About Dr. Hoenig

Podiatrist Michael Hoenig, DPM, is originally from Denver, Colorado. Growing up he participated in many sports, however, his true passion was gymnastics and diving. He was a competitive gymnast until the age of 13 when he made the switch to diving. He continued to dive at the collegiate level at the University of North Dakota where was named honorary All American each year. Through out his career he suffered many knee injuries which led him to his love for medicine and career as a podiatrist.

Through his many injuries he learned how important the doctor patient relationship is and what it takes to get a person back to the everyday life style they live whether that is a competitive athlete or a someone who is just wanting to get around the house pain free. He listens to the patients needs and will devise a plan that is realistic to the patient wants but will also get the patient to where they need to be in a safe and timely manner.

Dr. Hoenig completed is undergraduate degree at the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science with a minor in Chemistry. He obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. He continued his surgical training at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota where he served as Chief Resident his 3rd year.

In North Dakota, Dr. Hoenig trained in sports medicine, diabetic foot care and limb salvage, extensive wound care, total ankle replacements, flat foot reconstruction, and forefoot, rearfoot and ankle trauma.

Outside the office Dr. Hoenig enjoys spending his time with family and friends including his two corgis, Jayhla and Milo. He loves to hike, workout and is an avid Colorado sports fan.
